What identification documents do I need to open a current account?

To open a bank account at a branch you need to provide at least one form of photo ID and one proof of address. If opening the account online a second form of ID, or Selfie with your ID, is required. Please note the name on the photo ID must match the name on your proof of address.

Online application

To complete your application you must upload two forms of ID and one proof of address, you can choose one of the following options:

As soon as you believe your card has been lost or stolen, please get in touch. We'll cancel your card as soon as you tell us it's missing and get a new card issued to your address (the one we have on file for you) in 5 to 7 working days.

Please let us know immediately if you discover your card is lost or stolen. Otherwise, you could be liable for any losses up to the time you report the loss to us.

Smart Device

You should report any lost or stolen smart device to Woohoo Bank when:

  • You use the smart device as security device for online banking - Any smartphone or tablet you have installed the Woohoo Bank App on and completed registration of that device.
  • You use the smart device for as a digital wallet - Any smart device on which you have added your Woohoo Bank  debit or credit card using Google Pay (android devices) or Apple Pay (iOS devices).
Can I order foreign currency online?

Yes you can.

Foreign currency can be ordered to collect in all branches with the exception of the Advice & Self Service Branches. You can make your order online using the Foreign exchange order form or Call + 353-1-211-8666

What is ransomware?

Ransomware is a type of malicious software (or malware) designed to block access to a computer system or device until the victim pays a sum of money (the ransom) to the attacker. Ransomware is one of the main security concerns for organisations globally, and email continues to be a very common method used by cyber criminals to deliver this attack.

What you can do

There are a number of steps you can take to help protect yourself and/or your business against a ransomware attack

  • DO NOT click links in suspicious emails or download unsolicited email attachments.
  • If you receive an email from a known sender, but with an unusual link or attachment, contact them first to confirm the legitimacy of the email.
  • If you receive a suspicious email in relation to your Woohoo Bank accounts, forward it as an attachment to security@woohoobank.com immediately.
  • Be careful when accessing websites; do not click on advertisements as they could contain malicious software.
  • Ensure your anti-virus software is up to date.
  • Always run your computer or network on the most up to date version of the operating system.
